My name is Anri and I live in (and hail from) NYC. One of the few things I love more than this amazing city is food.
Since graduating from college I have lived in Hong Kong and Brazil; dabbled in teaching, consulting, writing, and housewifery; and, most recently, attended culinary school. I enjoy cooking for others and eating delicious things, but my true passion is baking. When not in the kitchen or shopping the aisles of Fairway, I’m running (I’m two continents away from completing a marathon on all seven), doing yoga, and spending time with Dave (my husband) and Kuma (my yellow Labrador). And in case you can’t already tell, I am a big fan of parentheses.
This blog is an attempt to chronicle all things culinary in my life, mostly in NYC. I invite you along as I cook, dine out, sample my friends’ creations, and, when I’m lucky enough to travel, eat on the road.
Disclaimer: I should let you know up front that I don’t eat meat. I occasionally eat seafood (I can’t live without sushi) but am increasingly questioning that practice as well. But, fear not, Dave is a big carnivore. Meat consumption will be chronicled here, through the eyes of my most frequent dining companion.
You can write to me at anri at nyculinarian dot com, or just comment here. I look forward to hearing from you.
